Weekends as needed.

Ron Rubin Winery is seeking motivated individuals to join the winery team for Harvest 2022 and become part of a growing family business in the exciting Sonoma County dynamic wine industry! Ron Rubin Winery is located in Sebastopol, CA.

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the winemaking crew and cellar master, harvest winery workers will carry out winery harvest activities, cellar work, and barrel work.

Essential Job Functions:

• Working closely with the winemaking team.
• Grape receiving, sorting, and processing.
• Juice and wine racking and transfers.
• Daily punch-downs and pump-overs.
• Winery facilities and equipment cleaning.
• Process equipment cleaning, sanitation, and operations.
• Assisting with cellar and barrel work.
• Assisting with all harvest winery activities.
• Daily fermentation checks of brix and temperature.
• Yeast, nutrient and acid additions to juice and wine.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Flexibility in scheduling required during harvest season, including working some overtime hours and weekends as needed.
• Required to be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED from accredited institution.
• One-year winery or related production experience desired.
• Knowledge of standard cellar equipment and operations is a plus.
• Perform frequent physical tasks including manual labor, lifting, bending, walking, climbing, crawling, twisting in sometimes wet and/or confined areas.
• Required to roll and move barrels that weigh up to 70lbs.
• Required to lift and move equipment and cases of product that weigh up to 50lbs.
• Required to conduct work at elevated heights.
• Ability to work inside or outside in changing temperature and humidity levels.
• Ability to communicate in English and carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
• Good attitude and willingness to precisely follow instructions and learn new processes.
• Complies with winery production and safety protocols and winery sustainability program.
