General Vineyard Worker

The General Vineyard Winery position is a hands-on role, focused on performing daily vineyard tasks, including cultivation, pre pruning, leaf removal, trellis maintenance, irrigation, and frost protection. This position also includes overall general Winery maintenance around the facility. Hours vary according to the season and will include some weekend and nighttime work with core business hours being Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 3:30pm. This role reports directly to the Winemaker.

Essential Functions:

• Work with our Winemaker to execute farming plan in accordance with Winery production plan
• Assist and work with vineyard contractors/seasonal workers as directed by Winemaker
• Assist with recordkeeping for crop and historical farm data including labor, water, pesticides, yields
• Acquire and maintain current CA Pesticide Applicator's License (if appropriate)
• Assist with property maintenance, including agricultural buildings and storage areas
• Irrigation, Frost protection, Bird netting
• Upkeep of General grounds, mowing, weeding and overall cleanliness

Position Requirements:

• Degree in viticulture preferred
• Functional English (Verbal and Written)
• Must possess a valid California DMV driver's license with clean driving record
• Vaccinations required

Preferred Experience:

• 1 year experience in vineyard or farming operations

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift and move loads up to 50 pounds
• Full body mobility: standing, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders
• Must be able to drive a tractor with variable attachments
• Must be able to operate cultivational tools
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions
